It has come to Montezuma County’s attention that many homeowner’s insurance companies have sent notices requiring a floodplain elevation certificate. Montezuma County does not create elevation certificates. Elevation certificates can only be produced by a licensed Surveyor, Engineer, or Architect and require a professional stamp. Within unincorporated areas of Montezuma
County Road N will be closed between Roads 21 and 22 beginning May 30 for the replacement of the Alkali Creek bridge. The work is being done by D & L Construction. The road will be closed until mid-November. Signs will be posted in advance detouring traffic via Road 21
