Job Title: Child Welfare Supervised Visitation Case Aide

Reports To: CW Intake/CW Ongoing Supervisor

 FLSA Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Department: Social Services

Salary Range: $19.55/hour plus Health, Dental, Vision, Life, EAP, HSA Insurance, 10 paid Holidays, Annual and Sick Leave and a 401K match

 

SUMMARY:

 Under the supervision of the Child Welfare Supervisor and/or Child Welfare Manager, provide supervised visitation between children in out-of-home care and their parents, siblings or family members. The Child Welfare Case Aide assists the child welfare department in the effective implementation of child and family services. Case Aides provide a wide array of administrative assistance functions, completes varied data entry projects, formalizes discovery, provides family time support, organizes collaborative meetings and works with caseworkers to streamline services through assistance.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and do not include other assigned duties)

  • Plans, coordinates, and reports on family time for all cases with court oversight
  • Develops plans for transportation for family time and obtains team involvement when needed
  • Completes MOE, IV-E determinations timely and ensures all documentation is located in the provided space
  • Receives and enters referrals to protective services of actual or alleged abuse or neglect cases in the state mandated platform
  • Maintains accurate records, documents communication with clients
  • Arranges supportive services such as transportation for clients as needed
  • Answers phone, directs all calls to the appropriate internal and external authorities
  • Scans and uploads all documentation accurately and timely for discovery
  • Requests forms and copies of required documents as needed, compiles information for use by others
  • Prepares for Child Protection Team Meetings, sends invitations and ensures PowerPoint and information is in order
  • Responsible for ordering office supplies and managing county vehicle maintenance logs
  • Conducts research for RED Team and provides this information to the team
  • Completes the framework for RED team in the state required database
  • Completes wide array of data entry that includes but is not limited to: transcription of forensic interviews, caseworker daily notes, medical passport information, frameworks, and referral
  • Conducts filling and records management

 

Education:

Graduation from High School or GED Equivalent

 

Experience:

One year full time responsible work experience.

 

 

Special Requirements:

Valid Colorado Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record. Must pass background check, drug screen and motor vehicle record check.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Record keeping, filing and preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials
  • Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary
  • General office procedures, policies and practices, as well as basic knowledge of standard office equipment to include computer, fax machine, copier, and telephone
  • Must be able to have a good working relationship with the DSS staff. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with internal staff, citizens, and other departmental staff in order to give and receive information in a courteous manner
  • Ability to effectively plan, schedule and organize
  • Ability to assess situations and make prudent and appropriate decisions; ability to apply conflict resolution and problem solving skills
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to act with discretion, maintain confidentiality and be professional
  • Understands and abides by County policies, procedures, rules, ethics, regulations and confidentiality

Office Technology/Computer Skills:

Must be able to effectively use modern office technology and equipment, including computers, calculators, telephone, copiers with scanning and faxing capabilities. Must have extensive experience in word processing, database manipulation, and email with a high degree of accuracy. Must be able to learn the software and programs related to the position and the County.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to tolerate and be productive in a quiet to moderate noise level in the work place. Employee will have periodic exposure to hazards in the field such as driving and inclement weather and potentially hostile clientele. Exposure to computer screens. May be exposed to potential communicable health conditions and angry, hostile, frustrated individuals and those with behavioral and/or cognitive challenges. May go into client’s homes and be exposed to waste, hazardous materials and unknown situations. Rural travel.
