Tuesday, April 8, 2025
Attendees: Director of Public Health- Bobbi Lock; Assistant Director-Laurel Schafer; County Administrator- Travis Anderson; County Attorney Stephen Tarnowski; Medical Officer Dr. Amanda Mullen; Katy Maxwell, Public Health Planner.

Bobbi Lock called to order the regular meeting of the Montezuma County Public Health Board of Health Meeting at 1:31 on 4/8/25 at Montezuma County BOCC Room.
Presentation of the 2025 Community Health Assessment (attached) by Katy Maxwell. Discussion on the top 5 results. Mental Health-Substance Abuse-Housing Costs and Basic Needs – Health Care Access and Food Costs. Discussion on years of life lost measures for Montezuma County. Next step in the process is the development of the 5-year public health improvement plan, which is based on these results, community and public health capacity. More to come!
As of this meeting there are 2 confirmed cases of measles in Colorado. 3 confirmed cases will trigger outbreak status. Discussed new MMR vaccine recommendations for 6-12-month old’s who are traveling out of the country where outbreaks are occurring. Reminder to local providers to notify public health if there is a suspect case and to recommend isolation.
A huge thank you to Dr. Amanda Mullen for her 2 years of service as MCPHD’s Medical Officer. She is moving on to another adventure and will be missed dearly in the community and as our medical officer. Welcome to Dr. Jocelyn Hirschman as our new Medical Officer. BOH appointed Dr. Hirschman at 2:17.
