JOB DESCRIPTION: PART-TIME IT SPECIALIST

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time (Flexible hours to support peak times and projects)

PAY RANGE: $32,000 – $44,000 DOE/DOQ

About the Role

We are seeking a Part-Time IT Specialist to provide technical support, on-call services and ensure smooth IT operations for our organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, maintaining systems, and helping users succeed while working a reduced, flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support: Assist staff with hardware, software (including Office 365), and network issues via phone, email, or in-person, VoIP, wireless, and others as needed.
• System Maintenance: Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and peripherals; perform regular system checks and backups.
• User Management: Create and manage user accounts, email setups, and access permissions.
• Network & Security: Monitor network activity, perform security checks, and help maintain system integrity.
• Documentation: Develop and update manuals, procedures, and training materials.
• Problem Resolution: Diagnose issues, guide users through solutions, and escalate complex problems when necessary.
• On-Call:  Will be providing on-call services, that occur after hours and on weekends.

Essential Skills

• Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows, hardware, and common software.
• Familiarity with networking basics, security best practices, and cloud services (e.g., Office 365).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Example Duties

• Troubleshooting printer and connectivity issues.
• Setting up new employee laptops and software.
• Managing backup systems and performing daily checks.
• Resetting passwords and granting VPN access.
