Administrative Assistant

 

 

Montezuma County Public Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time 40 hour per week Monday-Thursday Administrative Assistant in the Front Office.

 

Must enjoy multi-tasking, have good office skills, and be very detail oriented. Familiarity with billing and accuracy with numbers is required. Good interpersonal skills, enjoy working with the public along with excellent computer skills using Microsoft Excel and Word are all a must. Bilingual a plus. High school diploma or GED required. Salary $23/hr, $47,840/yr

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Serves the public need by phone and by walk-in, performs data entry, collects fees and performs other clerical work along with minor administrative and business detail by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  (Other duties may be assigned.)

 

Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records

Answers and screens telephone calls as well as addresses walk-in customers

Makes copies of printed materials and develops brochures as needed

Maintains prompt and predictable attendance

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to enter numbers in computer accurately for billing purposes and any other need.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Internet software; Program Management software and Database software.

Certificates and Licenses: Current Colorado driver’s license
