Mesa Verde National Park Stage 2 restrictions effective August 8, 2025

Mesa Verde Entering Stage 2 Fire Restrictions

Mesa Verde National Park will enact stage 2 fire restrictions on August 8, 2025. In stage 2 restrictions, building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, charcoal, coal, or wood stove are prohibited. This includes a prohibition on campfires in Morefield Campground.

Liquid petroleum gas (LPG) fueled devices that can be turned on and off, such as stoves, lanterns, or heating devices are allowed, but only if they are UL Listed as meeting fire safety standards. You must also only use them in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within 3 feet of the device.

Thank you for helping Mesa Verde avoid unwanted fire in these dry conditions!
