The Stoner Mesa Fire was reported on July 28, 2025 and is burning in a remote area roughly 20 miles northeast of Dolores and west of Rico, CO.

Red Flag Warning in effect on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from noon to 10:00 pm. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Please use caution when using anything that could cause a spark or fire, even when no restrictions are in effect. Fire danger is currently HIGH in Montezuma County.
