Montezuma County is seeking a promoter to lease and operate the county’s racetrack facility located at the county fairgrounds.

The Montezuma County racetrack, located at 30100 Highway 160 near Cortez, Colorado, is a 3/8 mile, slightly banked, clay oval track.  The track is located on 20 acres, and includes grandstands, ticket booth, concession stand/announcer’s booth, restrooms, pit area, and parking, as well as 500mb high-speed wireless internet service.

Interested parties are asked to submit a proposal to the Board of County Commissioners that includes professional references, demonstration of previous experience in event promotion, and a business plan for operating the facility.  Submissions are due by January 17, 2025.  A background check and credit check will also be required.
