Public Hearing:
Notice is hereby given that the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing for review and determination regarding a proposed High Impact Permit Application, submitted by Country Style Investments, LLC; agent: Kevin Rice, on property located at 7500 Hwy 160-491, Cortez, CO, consisting of 9.60 acres, more or less, east of Hwy 160-491, north of Road G.3, situated in Section 3, Township 35N, Range 16W, N.M.P.M.

The hearing will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room. Interested persons may attend and give input. Information may be obtained from the Planning Office online service at
SmartGov Portal
or by contacting the Planning Dept. at (970) 565-2801.

  1. Mylar Presentation:
    The Planning Department will present for signatures a Mylar of a proposed 16‑lot Major Subdivision and Rezoning submitted by Paul & Dana Weyand; Agent: Cody Maxwell, on property located at TBD Hwy 145, Cortez, CO, consisting of 91.76 acres, more or less, located south of Road M, west of Hwy 145, situated in Section 13, Township 36N, Range 16W, N.M.P.M.

Other items may be discussed.

Public Comment

The Public Comment portion of the agenda provides the public an opportunity to speak to the Board of Commissioners about issues that are not on the main agenda. Testimony relating to scheduled agenda items will not be allowed during Public Comment.

Rules of decorum will be strictly enforced. Outbursts and interruptions—including shouting, clapping, booing, laughing, or other reactions—are prohibited. Comments may only be made by residents of Montezuma County who have been recognized by the Chair, are speaking into the microphone, and have stated their name and address for the record.

Each person will have 3 minutes to comment. No speaker may yield time to another speaker. Comments shall be directed only to the Board; no comments or questions shall be directed to staff or other members of the public.


Consent Agenda

The Consent Agenda allows the Board to focus on more complex items. These items are generally non‑controversial and may be approved by a single motion. Items may be removed and addressed individually if necessary.

  • Decision regarding change order for Planet Excavation Performance Bond
  • Grant application for a County‑wide Road Improvement Planning Grant

Items Needing Individual Consideration

  • Possible decision related to Magellan Strategies proposal for Sales Tax Ballot Measure

Pursuant to C.R.S. Section 24‑6‑402(4)(b), the Board may move into executive session for the purpose of receiving legal advice from counsel on any item appearing before the Board on this agenda.
