At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, Montezuma County, Colorado, held on Tuesday August 20, 2024 at the Montezuma County Administration building in Cortez, Colorado, there were present:

CHAIRMAN CANDELARIA opened the meeting of August 20, 2024 with the Pledge of Allegiance
MINUTES: Commissioner Koppenhafer moved to approve the Proceedings of the Board of County Commissioners of Montezuma County, for Tuesday, August 13, 2024 as presented. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lindsay and carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Allen Maez and Kirk Underwood made public comment. (See attached)
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
CONTRACTS: Administrator, Anderson presented for approval the following Public Health Contracts:
A State of Colorado, Department of Public Health and Environment Contract Amendment #4, for the fiscal year 2024-2025 Colorado National Collaborative (CNC) contract. Commissioner Lindsay moved to accept the State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment contract amendment #4, in the amount of $110.000.00. Second by Commissioner Koppenhafer and carried. (See attached)
The State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Task Order #2025*0253, for the fiscal year 2025-2026 Woman Infants and Children (WIC) contract. Commissioner Lindsay moved to accept the State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Task Order #2025*0253, in the amount of $125,620.00. Second by Commissioner Koppenhafer and carried. (See attached)
The State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Contract Amendment #1, for the fiscal year 2024-2025 Public Health Emergency Preparedness contract. Commissioner Lindsay moved to accept the State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Contract Amendment #1 in the amount of $52,944.00. Second by Commissioner Koppenhafer and carried. (See attached)
DISCUSSION: Emergency Manager, Jim Spratlen met with the Commissioner to present the revised SRS Title 3, 2024 Budget Proposal. Commissioner Koppenhafer moved to approve the SRS Budget proposal for 2024, for $43,636.49, for the Montezuma County Emergency Management equipment. Second by Commissioner Lindsay and carried. (See Attached)
COUNTY ATTORNEY REPORT: Assistant County Attorney, Stephen Tarnowski gave an update on the Mesa County, Colorado State Severance Tax lawsuit.
ADMINISTRATOR REPORT: County Administrator, Travis Anderson discussed Administrative functions, the restructuring of the Senior Center under Social Services, a meeting held with the Hospital’s Senior Friends and the proposed Public Safety Sale Tax presentation.
COUNTY COMMISSIONER REPORT: Topics within the Commissioners reports included:
Commissioner Koppenhafer mentioned constituent conversations related to the proposed Public Safety Sale Tax and the attended Livestock Association Summer Social event.
Commissioner Lindsay discussed the attended Cattleman’s Social event, the attended Cortez City Council meeting and constituent conversations.
Commissioner Candelaria: discussed the Public Safety Sale Tax presentations and the Governor’s scheduled Special Legislative session,
MOTION TO ADJOURN: Commissioner Lindsay moved to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Lindsay and carried.
