RESOLUTION NO. 19-2023

A RESOLUTION SETTING SCHOOL LAND DEDICATION FEES FOR THE MANCOS SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-6, THE MONTEZUMA-CORTEZ SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-1 AND THE DOLORES SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-4A

WHEREAS, State Law (C.R.S. 30-28-133 allows the Board of County Commissioners, upon the request of Local Boards of Education, to acquire land or payment in lieu of land to be held for the benefit of the owners and future owners in a proposed land development; and

WHEREAS, local Boards of Education in Montezuma County representing The Mancos School District RE-6, the Montezuma-Cortez High School District RE-1, and the Dolores School District RE-4A have requested that the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners set fees that shall be assessed to land developments platted within the respective districts; and

WHEREAS, the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing on September 12, 2023, during which fee schedules for each of the respective districts were discussed; and

WHEREAS, the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners passed a motion indicating its intent to set fees in lieu of land for for land developments platted within the Montezuma-Cortez High School RE-1 school district at $1,043.85 plat, to set fees for land developments platted within the Mancos School District RE-6 at $550.00 for each new subdivision Jot, and to set fees for land developments platted within the Dolores School District RE-4A at $535.00 per lot; and

WHEREAS, Resolutions passed by each respective Board of Education in the school districts noted above have been attached to this Resolution;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the attached Resolutions from each of the Boards of Education are hereby adopted and School Land Dedication fees are set at $1,043.85 per plat in the Montezuma-Cortez High School RE-1 school district, $550.00 for each new subdivision lot in the Mancos School District RE-6, and $535.00 per lot for each new subdivision Jot in the Dolores
School District RE-4A.
