A RESOLUTION APPROVING 2022 PRECINCT CHANGES

WHEREAS, The Montezuma County Clerk and Recorder (“Clerk”) has requested that the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners (“BOCC”) approve certain precinct changes for 2022; and,

WHEREAS, Precinct boundaries have been drawn to align with Colorado State house districts, land survey sections, roads and wherever feasible other voting district boundaries; and,

WHEREAS, Colorado Revised Statute (“C.R.S.”) § 1-5-101 provides that, subject to
approval by the BOCC, the Clerk shall divide the county Into as many election precincts for all general, primary, and congressional vacancy elections as is convenient for the eligible electors of the county and shall designate the place for each precinct at which elections are to be held; and,

WHEREAS, C.R.S. § 1-5-103 requires that changes in the boundaries of precincts or the creation of new precincts for partisan elections must be completed no later than twenty-nine days prior to the first Tuesday In March; and,

WHEREAS, the requested changes are fully set forth in the meeting documents here to and incorporated herein by this reference.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners, County of Montezuma, State of Colorado, that the precinct changes as requested by the Montezuma County Clerk and Recorder which are attached hereto are hereby accepted and approved.
